Another (Brave) Candidate to Run for School Board

Adam Rak, Candidate for SC's School Board

Adam Rak has filed to run for SC’s K-8 School Board, meaning incumbent Seth Rosenblatt will have some company on November’s ballot.

Rak is VP of TechAmerica, a technology industry trade association.  No word on whether Tom Quiggle will run.

Quiggle’s term ends this year.  Ditto Rosenblatt.  If Quiggle decides to add another 4-year tour of duty to his eight year stint, that would mean a contested race for two open positions.

No doubt, the more candidates the better.  First, it’s not like people are tripping over themselves to become a School District Trustee.  (More on that next week)  Second, there may be some extra seats to fill.

Trustee Carrie Du Bois – term to expire in 2013 – is running for a seat on Sequoia Union High’s School Board so if she wins, that creates an extra position to fill for SC Elementary SB.

Trustee Mark Olbert – term also up in 2013 – is officially running for SC City Council so if he wins in that race, there’s another empty seat.
