A Message From Your Police Captain

Greg Rothaus, SC Police Bureau Captain

In the wake of a recent string of burglaries/attempted burglaries in Belmont, in which Belmont Police asked for heightened awareness at the end of July, the Laurel Street Spy asked San Carlos Bureau Police Captain Greg Rothaus if he had any words of caution for SC residents and here’s what he advised:

“On average, we have approximately 50 residential burglaries a year in San Carlos.  The advice is very simple:  securely lock your home before leaving, get to know your neighbors so you understand who should be coming and going in your neighborhood, never hesitate to call police if you see suspicious cars or people and consider a high quality alarm system.  Doing these will greatly reduce your chances of being a victim of burglary.”
